KRUDserver Linux

KRUD - Kevin's Red Hat Uber Distribution

What people are saying about KRUD:

Eric Raymond Linux Journal The Ultimate Linux Box 2001: How to Design Your Dream Machine

"I realize that favorite Linux distribution is a religious war, but I can't resist putting in a plug for mine -- KRUD Linux from Kevin Fenzi and the good folks at tummy.com. Subscribing to KRUD gives you a Red Hat base, plus a monthly update including all security fixes and a tasty selection of additional programs and tools."

KRUD Schedule:

  • Fedora until 2005-12

As you know, in the past several years of doing KRUDserver, the Linux distribution landscape (and the world) has changed a lot.

High speed Internet access is more widely available, reducing demand for a monthly issue CD distribution.

Kevin Fenzi is now a Fedora project committer. The Fedora Project is a demonstrated success. So, we'll be able to ensure that the extra packages we've been including in KRUD are at least considered for inclusion in Fedora.

Fedora isn't the only distribution we're recommending to our clients these days, though. We're also recommending CENTOS for slow-upgrade cycle installations, like servers.

We will be winding down KRUDserver by the end of the year. We will honor our subscriptions through December, and make a payout offer to subscribers with remaining time on their subscriptions then.

We continue to offer access to our mirrors.tummy.com site, for fast access to mirrors of kernel.org, Fedora Linux, and Debian Linux.
