I just finished giving a talk to
the bisman Linux users group on
5 simple steps to securing your Linux machine. All done via the magic
of VNC and phone.
I setup a vnc server in a demo account here and had them connect
a laptop to a projector and use vncviewer to connect to it. Then, they
could see my slides and I could use a mouse pointer to highlight things.
On the plus side it was easy to go through the slides and I think the
sound wasn't too bad for them there to listen to me. There were some good
questions at the end of the talk, and I could hear them just fine.
On the minus side it's hard to read the reaction of the audience
when you can't see them at all. Perhaps adding a webcam would be a fun
trick the next time.
VNC is a nifty thing and this was a good use for it.
