• Different kinds of firewall setups

  • Firewall protecting small network:
    • 2 interfaces ("outside" and "inside").
    • Firewall connects (or is in place between connector and internal network) internal network.
    • Can filter packets coming in and going out of internal network.
    • Can be a proxy server for some applications.
    • NAT/masquerade internal network to outside.
    • Home use/small office.
