Extremely small netcat
by FTP/HTTP: ftp.tummy.com:/pub/tummy/pynetcat/
pynetcat is an extremely small netcat implemented in Python. This was
primarily implemented for Red Hat/Fedora rescue images which had Python but
little else, as an implementation small enough that you could type it in by
hand at the terminal.
It also has compelling features such as transfer progress and cleanly
closing the network socket and stdin/stdout, where some other netcats
will hang at the end.
Python: a current version (1.5.1+) to work. You can get source (and
binaries for selected systems) from www.python.org.
- Extremely small "in" and "out" versions that you can type in by hand.
- Cleanly closes the socket and stdin/stdout instead of hanging at the
end of input like some netcats.
